This was pointed out to me by fellow trawler Keith Hutchinson. What are everyone's thoughts on this???



Council sets up talks on forming association

FOOTBALL >> Ipswich City Council is to hold a meeting with key stakeholders this month on the future of an Ipswich Football Association.

Parks sport and recreation chairman Cr David Morrison (Division 1) said recent meetings with stakeholders and Football Queensland had revealed that Ipswich's church clubs would be needed to make up the sufficient number of teams required for a regional association.

Cr Morrison said the meeting's outcome would determine the council's future plans to establish the association and an Ipswich zone.

The meeting is to be held on July 23 at the Ipswich Club from 6pm.

The club should at least send a rep. Its a good chance to get our name out there and our voice heard.

This is especially important as it may pay dividends in terms of our bid for use of the Springfield Lakes Oval and even if its a non starter it will give us some more leverage in applying to Football Brisbane.

I agree with Keith. A rep is needed....
