Junior update - February 2010

Hi,

Thanks to all those parents that came down to our first sign-on last
Monday. Sign-on's will continue for the next fortnight at the Lakes Ovals,
Summit Drive, Springfield Lakes while we continue to fill our junior
teams. This Monday (22 Feb) will also see Paul Lonton, Football Queensland's
Ipswich Development Officer in attendance to answer any questions.

TEAMS FOR 2010

The board has made the hard decision to cap our junior teams at u6/7/8
(NB: children that turned 5 or turn 5 this year will be eligible to play
u6) - the reason for this being that SUFC is a new club and will need to
phase in teams rather than over reach in its first season. Next year will
see the introduction of Squirts and u9/10/11 teams so i invite parents
who's children are not in these age groups to consider our club again in
2011.

COACHING & TRAINING

We have finalised our coaches for the season and once teams have been
filled they will be in contact to pass on details of training etc.
Trainings WILL NOT begin this Monday but will proceed within the following
fortnight.

SEASON DATES/CLUB TRANSFERS

Some of the other questions fielded by parents last week have now received
answers. First of all the season will begin the weekend beginning 16
April.

Secondly, those with children who have already signed with Western Spirit
or another club will be entitled to refunds of club fees (registration
will just transfer) + in some circumstances a small administration fee.
The policy agreed to by the IFA states that players should receive refunds
if they have not taken the field for the club they had signed with.

Again thank you for your patientce in this matter. The IFA is but 2 weeks
old and while things are progressing relatively quickly there are still a
few things that we are waiting upon.
